C++ Playground

Run C++ code using Compiler Explorer (also known as “Godbolt”) — the tool that started as a C++-only assembly explorer in 2012 and is still the gold standard for exploring real C++ compiler behavior.

C++  ·  starter snippet
#include <iostream>

int main() {
    std::cout << "Hello from Compiler Explorer!" << std::endl;
    return 0;
}

Paste the snippet above (or your own C++ code) and run it there — real compilation, real output.

Why this links out instead of embedding

C++ compiles to native machine code through a genuinely complex toolchain — templates, overload resolution, and optimization passes that no browser-side reimplementation could faithfully reproduce. Compiler Explorer runs the real GCC and Clang compilers this project already used to compile-audit its C++ content, so what you see here is exactly what a real toolchain produces.

About Compiler Explorer

Compiler Explorer (Godbolt) was built in 2012 specifically for C++ — to show how C++ source translates to assembly — before expanding to 30+ other languages. It supports multiple compiler versions and standard levels (C++11 through the latest), side-by-side optimization comparisons, and highlights which source lines correspond to which generated instructions.
